Watch out for signs of infection. Extreme pain, swelling, redness and pus discharges are positive signs for infection. Once you feel or see these, call or go to your doctor right away to be given the proper treatment and prevent the infection from spreading further. Do not remove the bandage that is wrapped around the tattooed area for 24 hours.
Always keep in mind to avoid touching the tattooed area especially when you weren't able to wash your hands. Touching the area may leave microorganisms which can cause infection.
Do not try to peel away the scabs if there are any. Attempting to peel the scabs may cause your wound to bleed. Just let it peel away naturally. Using a mild, antibacterial soap when washing your tattooed area is ideal. Make sure to gently pat it dry and avoid rubbing the area.
Avoid using alcohol or peroxide when cleaning the area. These substances have the tendency to dry the skin and the tattoo as well. Avoid getting the tattoo wet before it is fully healed. Moisture may accumulate on the wound thus making it a good breeding ground for bacteria. Avoid exposing the tattooed area under the sun. It may irritate the skin and can also cause the tattoo to fade.
Tribal tattoos are extremely popular nowadays. These tattoo designs seem to radiate charm and project a sense of mystery to everyone who sees it. Before, these specific styles of tattoos are only used by tribe members as a way of affirming their rank to everyone and by some groups of people to signify a part of their culture. But now, tribal tattoos have been generally accepted by the public. These tattoos have already been assimilated into our modernized world and are being perceived by some people as "cool" and as masterpieces of art.
